Motorhome
Three years ago Barb commented that "We should buy a motor home. Then we could drive it out here (to Bremerton, WA and we wouldn't have to fly because she doesn't like to fly) and sleep in it when we get here." I had no interest in the idea at the time.
Three years later here we are. And we are even sleeping in it.

Max likes playing in it. |
Max likes driving it, too. |

Joint Base in Washington
Last stop of the day was at Ft. Lewis, WA, now known as Joint Base Lewis McChord. With the legalization of marijuana it is only fitting that the military now has "joint bases".
I did Basic and Advanced Infantry Training here a long time ago.
Columbia River
The Columbia River as Lewis and Clark saw it. |
Camping on the Columbia River. Nice campground at Boardman, OR. You can make to Seattle from here in a short day's drive |
When traveling to Washington from Denver I recommend taking I84 West instead of going up to I90 like your GPS wants to take you. I84 follows the Columbia river all the way to Portland and is very scenic while thinking about Lewis and Clark traveling here.
Snake River
Evil Knieval jumped the Snake River but I am not sure exactly where at. There must be a marker somewhere.
Lots of irrigation from the Snake.

Day 4
Day 3 was mostly spent bumming around Estes Park so there isn't much to report.
Day 4 we rode around Estes Lake and these Geese were hogging the trail.

Day 2
Highway 83 between Valentine and North Platte, NE |
The Pony Express is recognized at the Julesberg, CO reststop.
First Leg
The first stop was at the border where the Rosebud Sioux have a casino. We ate at the buffet. I would give it about 3 stars.
