Fire Recovery Project

This past week I accompanied six others from Community United Methodist Church on a Volunteers in Mission project at Omak, WA. The area was hard hit by wild fires in 2014 and the recovery project is still going on.

On the first day we built a four strand barbed
wire steel post fence. The old one was made
of wood timbers that were probably due for
replacement when the fire hit.

 

On the second day we sanded two decks on this house. The
previous house was totally destroyed by the fire. This property
owner also lost a lot of equipment in the fire.

On day three and four we put a new deck
on this cabin.

       

I left the project at the end of day four to attend the pinning
ceremony for Master Chief Jason Rubentsein.

Motorhome Road Trip

Bought this motorhome from nice people in Scottsdale, AZ and drive it home.
It was a great day in Arizona where this picture was taken.

Chloride, NV was a former mining town that had 2000 residents.
Now pretty much a ghost town.

One of the main differences between Idaho and Nevada is water.
