Faye Sweet Passes on January 27, 2019

Faye fell  and broke her hip at home on October 23, 2018. She had surgery at Avera Hospital in Sioux Falls before being transferred to Sunquest Healthcare in Huron, SD for rehab. After about a month in rehab she went to Stoney Brook Assistive Living in Huron on December 28.

On January 11 she was diagnosed with severe congestive heart failure and was put back in the hospital at Huron. Then the pain in her hip started in again and they could not get ahead of it. She died on January 27 at 1:54 a.m.

She did not want her prayer service or funeral to be sad. And they weren't.

Life was sweet and Stoney Brook Suites. Unfortunatly it only
lasted 14 days.

This was the last good picture taken on January 5, 2019 at Stoney
Brook with granddaughter Kim and great grandson Maxwell.

Fire Recovery Project

This past week I accompanied six others from Community United Methodist Church on a Volunteers in Mission project at Omak, WA. The area was hard hit by wild fires in 2014 and the recovery project is still going on.

On the first day we built a four strand barbed
wire steel post fence. The old one was made
of wood timbers that were probably due for
replacement when the fire hit.

 

On the second day we sanded two decks on this house. The
previous house was totally destroyed by the fire. This property
owner also lost a lot of equipment in the fire.

On day three and four we put a new deck
on this cabin.

       

I left the project at the end of day four to attend the pinning
ceremony for Master Chief Jason Rubentsein.
